Archiving policy

Ukrainian hydrometeorological journal ensures long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content through modern digital archiving solutions and internationally recognized preservation standards.

The purpose of this archiving policy is to guarantee permanent access to the journal’s scholarly content even in the event of website discontinuation or changes in the technical infrastructure.

Repositories and Archiving Systems

The journal’s content is archived by depositing electronic copies of publications in the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, ensuring their long-term preservation and accessibility for the scholarly community.

The editorial team also performs regular backups of all data (content, metadata, and files) stored on the server to prevent data loss.

Technical Measures for Content Availability

All published articles are stored on the journal’s server, which operates on Open Journal Systems (OJS) version 3.1.1.4 — open-source software developed, maintained, and freely distributed by the Public Knowledge Project under the GNU General Public License.

To ensure the availability and preservation of its content, the journal implements:

  • regular server backups;
  • standardized metadata formats;
  • support for international protocols for scholarly communication;
  • preservation copies stored in trusted digital preservation systems.

Self-Archiving

Authors are allowed to deposit the published version of their articles in:

  • institutional repositories;
  • national research archives;
  • subject-based repositories;
  • personal or university websites.

In such cases, the full bibliographic reference and a link to the official version of the article on the journal’s website must be provided.

Long-Term Accessibility

The editorial board is committed to ensuring continuous access to the journal’s scholarly content through the use of international digital preservation systems and adherence to open scholarly communication standards.
